Forecast

Weather Forecast for Curaçao and surroundings valid until Tuesday morning 06:00 l.t., May 21, 2024.

Issued:
Monday May 20, 2024 05:00 l.t. (09:00 UTC).

Weather:
Varies from mostly cloudy to fair sky along breezy conditions throughout the day. Forecast high will be 32ºC, and the low will be 28ºC. Sunrise will occur at 06:11 and sunset at 18:54.

Winds:
Easterly and moderate to fresh; force 4 to 5 (20 to 39 km/h, 11 to 21 knots). Occasionally strong to near gale in gusts; force 6 to 7 (40 to 61 km/h, 22 to 33 knots).

Synopsis:
A high pressure ridge will be the dominant weather feature affecting weather conditions across the region through the day. This in combination with a low pressure area currently situated over northwestern Colombia generates moderate to breeze wind flow over the Southern Caribbean area which in turn will drive a few cloud patches over the island, but showers if any will be of an insignificant amount.. Over the next couple of days, the occurrence of an upper level disturbance in development in interaction with the Inter Tropical Conversion Zone will foster atmospheric conditions to become favorable for areas with thunderstorm activity to develop over the Central Caribbean. Models persist on some of these clouds to move across ABC islands with scattered moderate to locally heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorm activity. Heavier showers may cause some street flooding at the usual locations.

Sea conditions:
Moderate to locally rough with wave heights between 1 and 2 meters (3 and 7 feet). The highest waves are over the exposed water.

Special features:
None.

Outlook until Wednesday morning:
Mostly cloudy with some scattered showers along some thunderstorm activity.

Forecaster:
Correa

The next weather forecast will be issued on Monday at 11:00 l.t. (15:00 UTC).
